Witech Micropod2 WiFi and Non WiFi Which to Get?

 Question:

witech micropod2 clone comes with WiFi and without WiFi, what should I get?
Presumably without WiFi you use a cable.
Is that true? 

Suggestion:

There is no WiFi necessary for the emulator software to install or run. But software updates of windows 7 over the internet may be necessary, prior to installing the emulator software. And either Wi-Fi or ethernet may be needed if that is the case. But after Windows 7 is updated, Wi-Fi and ethernet and the internet is not wanted, while the emulator is running. Because the computer will try to 'call home' and possibly deactivate the emulator in the process.. How to Configure WiFi for wiTech MicroPOD2?

Let me get straight to the point. Here is the WiFi setting guide of the new released WiFi version wiTech MicroPod 2 V17.04.27 diagnostic scan tool for Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Fiat.

 

 

 

How to configure a Wireless Profile on a MicroPOD2?

Preparation:

On a PC with the wiTECH V17 software application installed

Iwifi version share the same installation procedure as non-wifi version micropod2.

Then plug MicroPod II interface into the OBD2 port of your vehicle. The indicator will turn green, it means it car is charging the device.

Meanwhile use the USB cable to connect one laptop (Dell, Lenovo etc) with installed V17.04.27 wiTech software

Connect wireless WIFI on the computer.

Enter IP “172.22.22.22” into the address bar of an Internet browser.

This opens the Witech setting interface

Select “Wireless Settings” in the menu on the left

 

Profile is set to “Default”.

 

Click on “Save”.

 

Wireless Settings saved. To enable this wireless profile, click on “Manage Networks”.

You can close this page and return to configuring the device by clicking on the close button below.

Next operation is to click on “Manage Networks” -> Wireless (tick it off) -> Select & Start.

Once the connection is complete you will see an IP address populate for the wireless interface

Success, close it.

Back to click on “Manage Networks”,  now we can see “Currently Selected”, and 172.22.22.22 is enabled, which means the wireless connection is set successfully.

WIFI WiTech MicroPod 2 Online Programming Guide

I would like to share a good news with all you, WiFi WiTech MicroPod 2 is now available at obdii365.com. It has two nice features: one is to connect via WIFI, another one is to do online programming with TechAuthority account. Witech was unable to read the VIN. Attempt to cycle the ignition into the RUN position before continuing. Note: If no keys are programmed and vehicle is unable to go into RUN, continue and enter the VIN, then there will be a dialogue saying ” Please enter an VIN. ”

 

Come to “All DTCs”.

Double-click row selection to view environmental data. Click on column heading to sort table.

Here we have one DTC, and we notice the “Online” icon is in green color, means the online programming is available; otherwise it is red color and name as “Offline”).
