There is no WiFi necessary for the emulator software to install or run. But software updates of windows 7 over the internet may be necessary, prior to installing the emulator software. And either Wi-Fi or ethernet may be needed if that is the case. But after Windows 7 is updated, Wi-Fi and ethernet and the internet is not wanted, while the emulator is running. Because the computer will try to 'call home' and possibly deactivate the emulator in the process..
